Isn’t it refreshing to see real change from real people?

Avoid the “31 ways to fail”

failI’ve just written an article “Are you trying to lose?” which touches on how and why some of us simply cannot attract more into our lives and cannot get above what we are accustomed to getting.

I also thought that you may like to know that what Napolean Hill believed were the 31 ways to fail so that you can avoid them or look them square in the eye and overcome them!

Quoted from his book “Think and Grow Rich” which you may get in PDF version here.
Who hasn’t heard of Napoleon Hill and his Famous book, “Think and Grow Rich” ?
It IS the undisputed Bible of ALL Millionaires!
Too many of us focus on the acquisition of wealth, instead of the Natural Law of the Universe that says, “When you are ready for wealth, It WILL come to you automatically, and almost Magically”.

31 Ways to Fail from “Think and Grow Rich”

1. Unfavorable hereditary background.
2. Lack of well-defined purpose in business .
3. Lack of ambition to aim above mediocrity
4. Insufficient education
5. Lack of self-discipline
6. Ill health.
7. Unfavorable enviornment influences during childhood
8. Procrastination.
9. Lack of persistence.
10. Negative small business service professionality
11. Lack of controlled sexual urge.
12. Uncontrolled desire for something for nothing.
13. Lack of a well defined power of decision
14. One or more of the six basic fears.
15. Wrong selection of a mate in marriage.
16. Overcaution.
17. Wrong selection of associates in business.
18. Superstition and prejudice
19. Wrong selection fo a vocation.
20. Lack of concentration of effort.
21. The habit of indiscriminate spending.
22. Lack of enthusiasm.
23. Intolerance.
24. Intemperance.
25. Inability to cooperate with others.
26. Possession of power that was not acquired through self-effort.
27. Intentional dishonesty.
28. Egotism and vanity.
29. Guessing instead of thinking.
30. Lack of capital.
31. Other.

Okay so what are we going to do about them? The issue is not to focus on these ways of failure but to recognize them, turn them around and concentrate on the 31 ways to GAIN!

Of course some of these ways may be as a result of circumstances outside of ourselves, for example #1 (Unfavorable hereditary background), but does that mean our life is set because of our background and our quest for a prosperous business and fabulous life is destroyed?

Heck NO!

One way that we can start dealing with failure BEFORE we fail is to create a vision for your business . In that vision picture your ideal day, your ideal business . If there are one or more ways from the above list that you feel has impacted your business include that in your vision statement by turing it around and believing in the positive!

For instance if you recognize that #21-”The habit of indiscriminate spending” has continously affected your business , you may write your vision to reflect THE OPPOSITE of that failure. “I happily spend my money wisely and use my funds thoughtfully to acquire the best for myself and my family.”

Focusing on that vision will propel you towards it and onto your dreams of having that prosperity that you deserve and that you desire.

Are You Trying to Lose?

Just 2 nights ago my partner and I were watching a cricket game from Zimbabwe on cable. The team that was currently batting was leading by a huge margin in the 1st innings but during the 2nd innings were dropping out like flies. They were struggling to maintain their score and beat their opponents.

My partner looked at me and said in disgust “What are they doing, trying to lose?”

I looked over at him and thought to myself, “Wow! You’re so right”.cricket

In an instant he had clinched many of our problems from a simple game, while several of us struggle to reach the pinnacle and fall short of our dreams.

Isn’t it amazing that sometimes no matter how hard we try, it seems that we’re always trying to lose instead of striving to win? It’s like reaching a weight loss plateau and having no idea how we’re going to get rid of those last 5 lbs.

I’m sure you’ve experienced this or know someone who has, for example, can’t seem to earn more than a certain amount of money, who can’t seem to lose more than a certain amount of weight, who can’t seem to pass an important exam no matter how many times they’ve taken it.

We’re trying to succeed and do the best we can but something is holding us back.

Are we trying too hard?

Are we afraid of something?

Why does this happen to us?

My friends allow me let you into a little secret about ourselves, if it’s okay with you.

Our minds are so conditioned to understand, accept and appreciate only what we know.

It knows that we earn a certain amount each year and no more. It knows that we can lose a certain amount of weight and no more. It knows that we can attain a certain level of success and prosperity and no more.

When that point is reached, unconsciously we tend to sabotage our early success and stop ourselves in our tracks from achieving more. This is Internal Resistance.
It’s these Resistance thoughts that stop you from doing what you want and can often show up as procrastination.

Before and up to that point of resistance we begin to have thoughts such as: “I can’t do this”. “I’m not going to earn any more than this no matter how hard I work”. “This will never happen”. “I’m not yet ready for this”.

That is not to say that we don’t want or desire more. On the contrary we do!

So, what are we going to do about getting everything that we desire?
How are we going to attract more than we’re programmed to?

We need to re-condition our minds to accept more prosperity and more abundance and therefore open ourselves up to receiving more than we’re accustomed to.

Sounds complicated? Don’t worry it’s not.

This can readily be done by accepting that your business and your life CAN be as fulfilling, as rich and as prosperous as you desire. Realizing that you can have whatever you desire.

Purchase a journal. We’ll call it your Prosperity Journal. Each day before bedtime, start appreciating the good things that occurs in your business . Doing this will open your whole being to attracting more. Be grateful for all things that you do, that happens to you and that exist every day-both large and small. It could be the sunshine or the rain, your family, your job, your business.

As you begin to focus on being grateful, more of the same good shows up in your business . As more begins to show up in your business , you understand that you can focus on what you want and attract it. As you begin to focus on what you want, that as well will show up with much less resistance and struggle on your part.

As you expand your mind you expand your possibilities. You will come to understand that everything is available to you in absolute abundance. It is only for you to allow it to come into your business without resisting.

You will come to understand that the Universe is limitless and full of abundance and that instead of trying to lose, you will master the process of winning!

Soccer and your Goals

footballDo you like soccer? I don’t!

Wait a second and hear me out. (I can hear you soccer fans out there crying “FOUL”!)

I dislike the fact that in over an hour of watching men and women running around after a ball, there may be only 2 or 3 goals scored or maybe even none! I prefer more fast paced games myself like basketball, volleyball…

Can you imagine if your business was like a soccer game? Good gracious! How boring would our lives be if we achieve 1 goal every time we play! How long would it take for us to attract our true desires? Okay I agree that some business goals that some of us have are so incredibly UNattainable that it does in fact take us a very long time for us to say…………

“G-O-A-L!!!!!!!!!!!!”.

In trying to get that ball in the goal we have all sorts of setbacks to overcome, hurdles to jump over, defenders of the status quo to get past. You know what I mean by the latter. Those ‘defenders’ that are constantly telling us, “Oh you can’t do this..it’s too hard! You can’t earn THAT amount of money!”

And then there is the goalkeeper we have to contend with-our subconscious mind that tries hard to keep that goal from becoming a reality.
I’m sure at one time or other we’ve had a perfectly attainable goal, only to be put off by those nagging thoughts in our head that more often than not keeps that ball from out of the net.

If on the other hand our lives were as fast-paced as say, the NBA finals… WOW!!! Imagine what we can achieve! How exciting would our lives be if we could achieve a 3-pointer!

Now, our goals don’t have to be long-term goals that will take us months to attain. How about having 3-5 goals each day? Or 10 goals a week? Or 10 goals a month? These goals can be as simple as ‘getting to work on time’, ‘leaving work on time’ or ’spending 30mins with the children’ or even ’saving $100 this month’. It doesn’t really matter.

The more accustomed you are to achieving your goals, the more goals you will achieve! The more goals you achieve, the closer you get to the vision of what you want your business to look like. And the closer you get to your vision each day, the more prosperity and happiness and success you will attract. Easy, huh?

Do I like soccer? Nope! Give me basketball any day and let me score every basket I can!

Top 10 reasons people don’t live a prosperous life

frustrated_woman“If it was easy, everyone would be rich and prosperous”.

So why aren’t we? Read on my friend….

1) Clarity Many people don’t know what they truly want in business . They have not clarified exactly what they desire and where they want to be within a year, 5 years even 3 months.

Because they don’t know where they are going they drift along with the daily grind, totally forgetting that they want to attain true prosperity.

2) PATH They are some that have a goal for their business , yet they do not know how to attain it. They go through the motions daily and never actually make a conscious decision to attain their goal.

3) STRUGGLE Many are desperately trying to live a business of happiness, wealth and success. They are focused on achieving true prosperity but yet constantly find themselves struggling to attain it.

It is this struggle that actually prevent them from being truly prosperous.

4) FEAR-False Evidence Appearing Real. This one 4-letter word prevents us from going forward to achieve all that we desire. What will our family think? Will our friends still like us?

A very high percentage of persons fear success because of how it will affect us and our relationship with others.

5) CONDITIONING. As children and young adults our environment affects a great deal of our ‘conditioning’ and has a profound effect on the way we think, act and live. Our environment here could include our parents, our friends, television, politics, religion, school courses and our job.

For example, the TV may constantly bombard us with images of prosperous persons as unhappy, as crooks or gangsters or as lonely or selfish. If we really believe this, who would want a lead a prosperous, successful business ?

6) THE NORM “I can’t be bothered. This is too much work. It’s too hard”. Some persons simply cannot be bothered to achieve prosperity. They live each day in a trance, in a numb existence, going along with the status-quo and have no desire to change their lives for the better.

7) OUT-GROW YOUR PEERS Some people don’t want change. You may be hesitant to achieve your dreams, goals, you vision because once you do achieve true prosperity it may reduce your inventory of what is actually possible for you. It may mean that you grow beyond your partner, your friends and your family. What will that mean for you?

8 ) NEGATIVITY Our lives are stuck by the negativity we are drawn to in our daily lives. A large percentage of persons want to out do their co-workers or friends with the amount and magnitude of problems that they have. Most of us live our lives in total lack and shortage and that prevents us from achieving true prosperity.

9) COURAGE It takes courage to be prosperous. We need to focus our thoughts towards our vision of true prosperity and hold to that vision. Once we have the courage and the beliefs, there is nothing we cannot achieve.

10)  “It can’t happen to us. Prosperity is for other people. They were born with a silver spoon in their mouth”. We are programmed to think that being poor equals happiness. Our belief system totally affects how we live our lives. Its is these beliefs that hold us back from our true potential and our true prosperity.
